900 Innes

Set on the India Basin Shoreline between two existing open space areas, 900 Innes is part of the largest gap in the San Francisco Bay Trail. Acquired by RPD in 2014, the 2.6-acre site in its current condition is considered an industrial brownfield. Remediation funds from the Environmental Protection Agency have allowed RPD to begin remediation (read more about that work here), and SF Environment to train a local workforce for the cleanup. The 900 Innes site is also classified as a historic landmark, due to the 1870’s-era Shipwright’s Cottage and a collection of other maritime structures likely built between 1930 and 1943.
