Heron’s Head Park

Once a notorious dumping zone for unwanted waste, Heron’s Head Park is now considered one of the best bird watching spots in the city. Heron’s Head Park is the Port’s true ecological treasure, with 22 acres of open space, picnic areas, and trails. The restored wetland is home to dozens of bird and native plant species, as well as the EcoCenter, an off-the-grid environmental education center with programs for visitors of all ages.
