Franklin Square

This urban oasis is nestled between the Mission District and Potrero Hill.

The landscaping is gorgeous, and the old trees provide plenty of shade for an afternoon stroll. Both the soccer field and playgrounds have been recently renovated.

  • Established in 1868, historic Franklin Square park was briefly known as Father Crowley Playground in 1950 before returning to the name Franklin Square. The soccer field was added in 1984 and has undergone numerous renovations, most recently in 2004.
